Important Legislative Information-South Carolina

Update on South Carolina Senate Bill 38. We’ve previously reported on this bill which would require valid forms of ID in order to title and register a motor vehicle in South Carolina. The target of the bill from inception was and is illegal aliens. With few amendments and unanimous votes in both the House and the Senate, the bill became an Act on 13 April and enrolled for ratification. The Governor can either sign the bill, allow it to go into law with her signature or veto it. It is unlikely that she will issue a veto since both chambers of the General Assembly unanimously approved the bill.
